Lately, the idea of digital or online scrapbooking is beginning to appeal to me more and more. In the past, when I perused my monthly Creating Keepsakes scrapbooking magazine, I would snub my nose at the 'digital age' section providing tips & tricks for scrapbooking digitally. I was a true blue scrapbooker with real supplies and plenty of time. These days, I still have the supplies but I don't have the time! I have a 1 year old and while I would love to scrapbook these hundreds of pictures I have of my precious boy, I just don't have the time. So, now I'm more open minded because it
seems like I could scrapbook with a computer a lot faster than I could if I were sitting at my crafting table pulling all the elements together by hand. I could be wrong but that's what I've been wondering about. All that being said, a friend of ours used SmileBox to create an online scrapbook of their baby and it was really cute. I was curious so I downloaded it and I've had it on my desktop for months, today I messed around with it for the first time. The program has premade scrapbooks and pages already created and you just drop in the pictures. And apparently you can blog your work! So here it is, it's a 4 page online scrapbook with music...
My comments about it...not bad and while this was certainly quick to do (took about 15 mins) The level of creativity was very limited. The designs are premade and the only sweat your break is by deciding which pictures to drop in. For someone who has VERY little time, this works! But I'll keep investigating...I know there are alot of options regarding digital scrapbooking and I think I'll pay attention to those digital age articles in my magazine now!!
