This weekend we attended a Polar Express train event hosted by Josh and Lynn's church, Rock Eternal. It took place at the Arizona Railway Museum in Gilbert, Az. Even though it was cold, we were able to watch the Polar Express movie, drink hot chocolate, listen to the Polar Express story annnnd meet Santa!
Crazy Aunt Lynn lived up to her title with ONE borrowed glove - with holes in it!
The Polar Express story was read aloud while we sat and listened in this train that was built in 1947 (remodeled in 1990).
Some of the other trains showcased in this museum.
In Nathan's short life, we have not had any exposure to Santa Claus - so when we boarded the train to meet Santa, I was completely surprised when Nathan sat right on Santa's lap and started chattering in his 2 yr old dialect right to Mr. Santa Claus. It was precious, here's a picture of that moment.
There was another very special moment this night. When I took my picture with Rocky the Turtle, Nathan didn't want anything to do with Rocky, which is understandable, so we didn't force or push anything.
However, Nathan saw Rocky throughout the night and saw that he was friendly.
Then this very special moment happened. Nathan. Rocky. Face to face.
After taking a few seconds to think about it, Nathan decides Rocky is his friend and runs to him.
Rocky bends down to meet Nathan and Nathan gives Rocky a big hug!
Then Nathan shows Rocky the candy cane he just got from Santa.
What a fun night!
